Global Customer Support Manager, Firestone



Michelle Johnson is 45 years old and she is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She has one sister and two brothers. Her greatest blessings are her two children. She has a daughter Ciara, who is 20 years old and she is a Senior in college attending Western Kentucky University. She also has a son, DeShawn who is 14 years old and he is a Sophomore in high school attending Smyrna High School. Michelle also has a fur baby, he is a Yorkshire Terrier and his name is Harley.

Michelle’s hobbies include reading and traveling. She just recently returned from Turks and Caicos where she described the beaches as the most beautiful she has ever seen. Michelle’s other favorite destination is Jamaica as she loves their amazing culture. The beach is her happy place. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Michelle also is an active volunteer with United Way.

Michelle’s professional career has been a great experience. She is currently the Global Customer Support Manager for Firestone Industrial Products, which is a division of Bridgestone Americas. This position has allowed her to travel to Europe, as she manages teams in Poland, India, Tennessee and Asia. She has fourteen direct reports and she enjoys the diverse exposure. Prior to joining Firestone, Michelle worked for Cummins as a Call Center Supervisor and a Project Manager.  Although Michelle has been blessed to obtain this position, there is one more thing she must obtain and that is her degree. She is currently studying Business Management at WGU. Obtaining her degree will help her continue the path of building her breath in her career. Michelle is also 6Sigma greenbelt certified.

Michelle was just recently selected out of hundreds of women to participate in the Women’s Unlimited program. This program is structured to development and mentor women in the corporate capacity. She will travel to Chicago for the next seven months, with women from all over the world to network and develop the skills needed for her career goals. Michelle is extremely excited about this opportunity.

In the next three years Michelle will be an empty nester, she has not yet determined what she would like to be doing in her career at that time. She has a desire to relocate as she has lived in Nashville all her life. She will just allow God to order her steps and see where she lands.
